Get Rid Of Freckles: Five Home Remedies For Freckle-Free Skin

Freckles look cute, but you are pretty with or without them. However, not every individual can embrace freckles as a facial feature that adds to their beauty.

Freckles are light brown tan or spots that appear on the skin. Skin cells containing melanin, cluster to form freckles; they are neither harmful nor painful. No individual is born with these spots on their skin. Freckles are caused by sun exposure. If you have freckled skin and want to achieve clear and blemish-free skin, below are some natural home remedies that you may consider trying.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is the most organic and useful component that helps lighten freckles. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C that help reduce the production of melanin and lighten the blemishes in the freckles-affected area. Lemon juice has photo-reactive and anti-pigmentary properties that can shield your skin against the harmful rays of the sun.

How to apply: Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice, and mix it with honey and dab it on your freckled skin using a cotton pad. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) contains malic acid that aids in exfoliating the dark-pigmented skin cells, lightening the freckles. ACV helps minimize hyper-pigmentation and enhances the overall appearance of the skin.

How to apply: Mix apple cider vinegar with honey, and dab it on the freckles-affected area. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Buttermilk

This common kitchen ingredient can be used to lighten the freckles. The presence of lactic acid in buttermilk helps lighten the pigmentation. Additionally, it can make your skin supple and soft.

How to Apply: You may directly apply buttermilk on your skin and leave

it for nearly 15 minutes and then wash off using lukewarm water.

Almond oil

Almond oil is excellent and also essential for our skin. It contains vitamin A and E that helps nourish the skin and minimizes pigmentations. It also serves as a tonic - brightening and softening your skin.

How to apply: Take a few drops of almond oil and gently dab it on the affected area using your fingers. Leave the oil for about an hour and wash off with lukewarm water.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is rich in aloin that helps minimize skin pigmentation. You may use it straight from the plant or even use store-bought aloe vera gel. Aloe vera stimulates metallothionein production in the skin, which helps prevent damage caused by sunlight.

How to apply: gently massage aloe vera gel on your face for about 5 minutes everyday to lighten freckles. Wash it off after 10 minutes with lukewarm water.

Before using any of the aforementioned home remedies, make sure you know everything about your skin type and sensitivity.
