'It is said that travelling is the best way to broaden one's knowledge about the world. Curious minds from around the world have often set sail on voyages to explore the unknown.’

Is a boring life worth living? Certainly not. Life should be a bit more exciting where your next day is full of surprises than the last day. It may be better or worse, but that should make you learn so many new things to add to the bag of your experience. This type of life can be found in a traveller or an explorer who has a lot of courage and wisdom to explore not only the new world but also a new or better of his/her own self. Through this article, we'll search in history to know such few names who went beyond the barriers for the discovery of something new, and through this, they have also inspired the future explorers. So, let's talk about them in detail-

Xuanzang or Hsuan-Tsang, probably the oldest and the greatest Asian traveller (602-664):

He was basically a Chinese Buddhist monk who started his journey to explore the origin of Buddhism, and in this journey of around 17 years, he crossed the great Himalayas and came to India. In his narrative named, ‘Great Tang Records on the Western Regions’, he demonstrated the social structure, civilizations, art and architecture of India so well that it became very helpful for the 19th-century scientist to age-old India very well.

Marco Polo, another explorer of Asia (1254-1324):

This Italian explorer started his journey at the beginning of the 13th century, and his father and uncle guided him throughout the process of exploration. He went to Persia, Afghanistan, Mongolia and China through the route which is now called the Silk Route. In his lifetime, he settled in Beijing for a few years to explore the surrounding countries like India and Burma. The book called 'Book of the Marvels of the World' tells us about his long journey of 26 years.

Vasco Da Gama, who linked Asia with Europe (1460-1524):

He has done the most significant thing in imperial history by connecting Asia with Europe through sea routes. In the year 1498, he crossed the great Atlantic and the Indian Ocean to reach the port of Calicut in Kerala. He was also the first man to sail across the Cape of Good Hope in Africa.

So, there is no doubt that these explorers contributed a lot to shaping the world map in a new way.
