“Grow the Glow” with Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is often considered as a “Wonder plant”, and is suitable for almost all skin types. It is known for it’s curing benefits and adds to our “glowy-skin” goals.

Understanding some of the most common skin problems, we have listed 6 easy aloe vera based DIY Masks that you can pick as per your need. Take a look!

  1. Acne – Aloe vera, cinnamon and honey:
We bet this mask will surely reduce acne breakouts and leave your skin smooth.

Mix 2 tbsp Honey, ¼ tbsp of cinnamon powder and a spoon of Aleo vera. Keep a thick consistency so that it spreads out easily on your face. Apply for 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Repeat this twice a week for better results.

Suitable for: Normal and oily skin.

  1. Pigmentation/pimple marks: Aloe vera, rose water and lemon:
This is one of the easiest face pack. Mix a spoon of aloe vera gel, ½ spoon of rose water and squeeze half a lemon too. Mix well and apply evenly on face and neck and let it dry for 20 minutes. Gently massage your skin in a circular motion for 4-5 minutes, wash your face with cold water.

It will significantly reduce dark spots, blemishes and act as a de-pigment your skin if used regularly.

Suitable for: All skin type.

  1. Dull skin - Turmeric, Aleo vera gel rose water and honey face pack:
You need:
  • Pinch of Turmeric
  • 1tbsp aloe vera gel
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Rose water
Make a thick paste, apply evenly on and keep it for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. This pack will even out the skin tone and leave your skin radiant and glowing.

Suitable for: All skin types

  1. Skin Tan – Curd, Aleo vera gel and lemon pack.
You need to mix  all the ingredients and apply on the face. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash it off. You can substitute curd with tomato juice. This pack will surely strip all that tan off. Apply thrice a week.
  1. Open pores- Besan and aleo vera gel:
Mix 1-2 tsp besan and 2 spoons of Aloe Vera gel. Apply on your face, Rinse it off in 15 minutes.

Use this once a week, it will exfoliate your skin and tighten the pores.

Suitable for: Normal skin, Combination to oily skin

  1. Patchy and flakey skin – Banana and aloe vera
Take 3- 4 ripe banana pieces and mash it well with aloe vera gel until it turns into a paste. Apply all over your skin and leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. It will keep your skin hydrated, moisturized and rip off the flakiness and patchiness on the skin.

Suitable for: Normal to dry skin

Tips and Cautions:

  • Refrigerate Aloe Vera gel for better results.
  • Always do a patch test on your arm before trying these or any DIY Masks on your face.
  • Never mix your pack and store it for more than 15 minutes from when you make it.
