  1. Shikakai:

The antibacterial and anti-fungal properties present in shikakai, reduce scalp dryness and irritation, remove dandruff and prevent greying. Shikakai maintains the natural pH balance of hair without removing the natural oils from the hair.

Reetha or soap nuts contain natural surfactants called saponins, which are good foaming agents that remove grease and dirt from your hair. Reetha provides necessary antioxidants to the hair to promote frizz-free, smooth and healthy hair growth.

Amla or Indian gooseberry is loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin C, which can protect hair follicles from any damage and also strengthens and nourishes the dry & damaged hair.

How to make your herbal shampoo?

You will need 5-6 shikakai pods, two reetha berries, 5-6 amla pieces, one teaspoon fenugreek seeds and one teaspoon flaxseeds. Shift all ingredients in a pan, add 500 ml of water and heat the mixture till it starts to boil and allow it to simmer for 10-15 minutes on medium flame. Remove from heat, cover and let it cool overnight. Before using this shampoo, crush all the ingredients with your hand and strain it in a bottle.

How to use?

You can use it as a regular shampoo. Wet your hair, then massage the herbal shampoo on the scalp, and move towards the ends of your hair strands. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then rinse with normal water.

This shampoo is suitable for all hair types and maintains the natural pH and oil balance of the hair.
