A healthy gut is the source of a good mood and a thriving body. It is a cycle of well-being that starts from the gut. It all boils down to what we consume and bring out our gut in contact with. Therefore, gut health is essential and sensitive to look after. But then, food is a tempting monster that is necessary for human body consumption. However, slack in the judgment of when to stop and what sits well with the stomach.

We might not be watchful of what we eat the very moment we relish, but the gut starts to show signs of unhealthiness quite immediately. It is because the gut needs healthy probiotics and nutrients to keep up a smooth functioning. But it always takes us time to understand how the gut is behaving. So here is your list of signs that will help you identify your gut health better.

Upset stomach

Any disturbance, bloating, gas, burns, acidity, and most importantly, constipation are the first and foremost signs of an upset stomach. Although you might not feel the pain or any discomfort immediately, it takes a bit of time to react.

High-sugar intake

It doesn't mean the consumption of sugar in tea, sweets or other direct forms of white sugar. For example, if you take a diet high in processed foods and added sugars, it leads to lowering the good bacteria in the gut. Thus leading to sugar cravings and causing damage to the gut.

Disturbed sleep

Well, you will believe it or not, but improper sleep leads to a lot of imbalance in the body. While it affects the skin for sure, it also has a significant impact on the gut. And vice-a-versa, an unhealthy gut also contributes to insomnia which in turn causes chronic fatigue. The reason is that most serotonin - a hormone that affects mood and sleep - is secreted in the gut.

Skin problems

Just like how unhealthy gut causes constipation, which leads to impurities in the body, causing acne, pimple, and rashes. In fact, according to experts, skin conditions like eczema is also related to an unhealthy gut.

Mood swings

Since our gut is the source for generating serotonin - the hormones responsible for our moods – it is all the more reason to keep it in good shape. Conversely, an unhappy gut, often laid with constipation or gastric or acidity issues, automatically makes the mood go off.
