As research has found, money plant offers an excellent range of health benefits as well. It acts as a natural purifier, eliminating various air-borne pollutants like Xylene, Benzene, Toluene, Formaldehyde, etc. Also, it absorbs radiation, boosts wound healing, improves cognitive skills, and relieves stress and anxiety levels.

Without further ado, let's discuss some of the important things that you should know about taking care of a money plant.

It requires well-drained soil

Money plant requires well-drained soil to grow properly. The best option is to use a mixture of river sand and normal potting soil. This will ensure more drainage to the roots, helping the plant thrive well.

It doesn't need regular water

Money plant is one of the rare plants that don't require daily watering. You can water your plant only once every 7 to 10 days during summer. And in winter, all you need to do is spray a little amount of water on leaves, and repeat after 2 weeks.

The soil needs to dry up between the two watering seasons.

It grows well in indirect sunlight

For the best growth of money plants, it's usually advised to choose a partially sunny and partially shady space. As research has found, these types of plants prefer low and indirect sunlight to thrive properly.

Also, make sure that the plant doesn't get in contact with scorching heat.

It prefers a pleasant temperature

Money plants usually cannot sustain high temperatures, as their leaves deteriorate due to the scorching heat. Frizzing temperature is also not recommended for these plants as well. So, keep it at a place where the temperature is somewhere between 13°C and 27°C.

Although not mandatory, you can use some fertilizers

There's no need for fertilizers if you provide proper soil and water to the money plant. However, if you still want to apply fertilizer, make sure that the product is organic and free of any kind of toxic ingredients. Apply it only in the evening, once a month. Also, do avoid fertilizer in the months of winter.

Last but not the least, make sure that the plant is root bound during the growing period.
