Highest individual Test scores against Zimbabwe

Australian opener Matthew Hayden is the only batsman to have struck a triple century against Zimbabwe in test cricket. Matthew Hayden 380 Matthew Hayden registered the record for the highest individual score against Zimbabwe in test cricket in an innings when he struck 380 while batting first against Zimbabwe in 2003. Australia were facing Zimbabwe in a match in Perth in October 2003 when the home side won the toss and decided to bat first.

Hayden batted on for 437 deliveries which translated to 622 minutes and struck 38 fours and 11 sixes in his knock while batting at a strike rate of 86.95.

Australia finally declared at 735/6 after Adam Gilchrist also struck a century and remained unbeaten on 113 off 94 balls at a strike rate of over 120. There were half centuries from Steve Waugh and Damien Martyn as well.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 239 and 321 in their two innings and lost the match by an innings and 175 runs. The team won the next match by 9 wickets to seal the series 2-0.

Kumar Sangakkara 270 Kumar Sangakkara's 270 in the second innings against Zimbabwe came in May 2004. He batted for 468 minutes and 365 deliveries and hit 36 boundaries and 2 sixes while going at a strike rate of 73.97.

His 270 remains the highest by a Sri Lankan batsman against Zimbabwe in test cricket, followed by Atapattu's 249, which was made in the same match.

WasimAkram 257 WasimAkram struck his highest test score of 257 not out against Zimbabwe at home in October 1996. The feat came in the second innings when Akram faced 363 deliveries for his 257 not out. He struck 22 boundaries and 12 sixes while batting at a strike rate of over 70.

MarvanAtapattu 249 In the second test match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in Bulawayo in May 2004, Zimbabwe batted and were bowled out for 228. In reply, Sri Lanka piled on 781/3 before declaring.

While Kumar Sangakkara struck 270, another double century came in the same innings from the blade of captain MarvanAtapattu who made 249 runs off 324 deliveries while hitting 36 boundaries and batting at a strike rate of 76.5.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 231 in their second innings to lose the match by an innings and 254 runs.
