Bollywood announces several projects every year. Some of these excites audience and leave them waiting for the release. However, it is bitter truth that not every project is made into a final film.
Cinema is an art form that is an amalgamation of lots of art forms, especially Indian Cinema. To make a movie, one has to take care of various things and logistics and that is why not every film gets made. The reason for this varies from budget issue to dates issue.Here are some of the biggest and highly anticipated Bollywood movies that we were excited to see but they never got made due to some or the other reason.
Anurag Kashyap announced his project AllwynKalicharan with Anil Kapoor in lead in 2003. The catchy title of a movie is a amalgamation of a refrigerator brand and a West Indian cricketer. This neo-noir movie was supposed to depict the dystopian future and focuses on the life of a corrupted police official. Anil Kapoor even started shooting for this project but due to creative differences, he opted out of the movie. However, Anurag Kashyap rarely talks about this project in his interviews now but it was his dream project which broke his heart. Even the posters of the movie were released but due to the unknown series of events, the film got shelved.
ShekharKapur is an acclaimed director who makes his movies after careful consideration. Paani is his dream project which is about the water crisis th world is going to see in the future. It is a known fact that water crisis is real and many believe that the next world war will happen for water. ShekharKapur reportedly signed late Sushant Singh Rajput for the movie but due to budget issues, the film never saw the light of the day. After being in the news for many years, the project finally got shelved with actors not interesting to play the role in it.
Shuddhi was an ambitious project of Dharma productions. It was supposed to be directed by Karan Malhotra, the guy who made Agneepath. There was so much in news regarding the dtar cast of the film. At first, Hrithik was signed along with Katrina for the lead role but due to some reasons, he opted out. After that, Salman Khan signed the film on Karan Johar’s request but due to creative differences, he left the film too. The film eventually went through Ajay Devgn, Shahrukh Khan and VaranDhawan but all of them rejected the role. Karan had no choice but to shelve the project.
