  • Apple cider vinegar

While apple cider vinegar is known for its wide array of health benefits, it also has success in treating scalp smell. ACV has antimicrobial properties that help in removing the smell.

Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 3 parts of water. Add half a cup of lemon juice and a few drops of essential oil of your choice, and apply it to your scalp. Wash it off after half an hour.

  • Lemon juice

Lemon juice also has antimicrobial properties that are known to eliminate the smell-generating bacteria that are making their home on your scalp.

Mix 2 teaspoon of lemon juice in a cup of oil of your choice or a cup of water. Massage this solution on your scalp and leave it for 15 minutes, before washing it off with water. To see results, repeat the process twice a week.

  • Garlic oil

The antifungal and antibacterial properties of garlic help to get rid of the bacteria in your hair, which will reduce the smell.

To make the mixture, crush four to five garlic cloves and add them to two tablespoons of coconut oil. Heat the mixture and strain it so that only the oil remains. Apply it on your scalp and hair, leave it for 30 minutes and wash it off.

  • Aloe vera

If the cause of your smelly scalp is oil and dandruff, aloe vera’s healing properties will treat the smell and act as an amazing conditioner.

After shampooing your hair, apply aloe vera gel on your hair and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off with normal water. Repeat it at least once a week to see results.
