Hot chocolate and it’s variations- Various ways to make and enjoy it now that winter is here

Are you someone who loves sipping hot chocolate, on cold and gloomy winter days or evenings? While going out and sitting in a café holding a steaming cup of hot chocolate is ideal, sometimes, going out is hard, and one may want to snuggle in their blankets and help themselves to hot chocolate! While classic hot chocolate is a no-brainer, here are some variations of hot chocolate that you can make this winter!

French Hot chocolate

There is no place like Paris when it comes to food and beverages! One of the most fine, quaint drinks is hot chocolate, French style. French hot chocolate is not for the casual chocolate dabbler. It is made with rich dark European chocolate and is usually extremely creamy rich, and extremely decadent!  This is a delight and can even be made at home! The trick is to use really good quality chocolate bars, bittersweet, dark and perhaps even homemade. The blend should be whole milk and cream, which gives it a thick rich texture. It is best also to avoid water. This takes only eight minutes of preparation!

Vanilla Mocha Hot cocoa

This variation of hot chocolate involves steamed milk, sweet chocolate, hints of coffee, and spiced with real vanilla. This drink is creamy, rich, and sweet and is best enjoyed with a large helping of homemade whipped cream on top. It is quick to make and delicious to enjoy! Sounds like a good option, doesn’t it?

Slow cooker hot chocolate

This is another good option for one! This delicious crockpot hot chocolate can be made easily. Add milk, condensed milk, cream, chocolate chips and vanilla in a slow cooker. Next, cover and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally until the chocolate chips melt, making it a smooth mixture. This will take about two hours. And that’s it! Now you can enjoy it. It is utterly delicious, and makes for a nice warm drink for you to enjoy on a cold winter’s day!

White hot chocolate

This is an easy-to-make sweet, creamy and delicious drink that can be whipped up in minutes! You have to heat milk, white chocolate and vanilla extract in a small saucepan. Keep whisking it until the chocolate melts. Once the chocolate melts, and the milk is warm, add a pinch of salt if you would prefer to balance the sweetness, and there you have it- your nice cup of white hot chocolate!

Spicy Hot chocolate

Have you ever considered the combination of chilli and chocolate? Believe me, once you try it, there is no going back! The trick is to add chilli to the mix, along with cocoa, chocolate and sugar! Cook this in a pan on medium heat, and whisk until the chocolate slowly melts! Afterwards, drop in a cinnamon stick, turn off the heat, and leave it for one hour. Once it is done, you can warm it, and even add marshmallows or whipped cream, to enhance the taste. Not only is it extremely delicious and a treat to your taste buds, but it is also rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, which is good for your health! Polyphenol helps to reduce inflammations and improve circulation, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Health, and taste, and the much-needed warmth during winter days- it is an all-in-one package!

So which one sounds the most tempting?
