How to have a stress-free vacation

In today’s fast-paced life when you take a vacation, you would want to have a good time and not worry about anything. You can follow easy steps to ensure you have a great time on your next vacation.

Disconnect; don’t be too reachable

We need to come out of the fear that the world will end if we don’t instantly revert to anything. Of course, you need to be available when your parents reach out for a family emergency. But you can safely turn off work notifications, disconnect from social media, and even turn off your mobile phone at least for a few hours. Instead of an instant reply, you can check your message say at the end of the day.

Plan essentials like passport, visa, and travel insurance

Although this may sound obvious, your entire vacation depends on these. Starting with the passport, ensure it has at least six months of validity. Also, double-check on the visa rules as you would not want a surprise at the airport. Lastly, never skip an insurance cover. Though this may feel unnecessary, you can’t predict a medical emergency and don’t want to add to the stress in such an event.

Lookout for medical needs

You would not want to get ill in a foreign land where you intend to have a good time. There is a bit of smart work needed to mitigate this situation. Check out on the federal portal if you need any kind of vaccination, carry a mini first aid kit, high SPF sun cream, and insect repellant. In case you take any prescription medication, carry them along with a medical prescription.

Pack light

Travel light, better to wash clothes, take 1-2 footwear and focus on absolute essentials; never carry valuable stuff like watches, jewelry, or excess gadgets. Rather, prioritize a hat, umbrella, flashlight &other stuff that may prove real savers! And don’t forget to carry copies of essential documents like passport, visa & insurance on phones and physical format.

Don’t over-plan, go with the flow

Have a broad schedule in place but don’t try to plan every activity down to a minute. Go with the flow and prioritize enjoyment and relaxation. Sometimes over-planning adds to the stress and that’s the last thing you would want. Also, engage with locals and ask them about the best spots or restaurants.

Don’t make a small event, distraction or detour ruin your entire vacation. Enjoy little moments with your loved ones and relax.
