Emotions are as much part of a human's living as is breathing. These aren't something that one carries around and activates as and when necessary. Rather emotions are something that dictates the mental functioning of the human. Be it at home, among friends, or at work, emotions come into play everywhere. While one can manage and find their way around a multitude of emotions when in a comfortable space, but when at work, one has to constantly keep their emotions in check - good or bad. Deep breathing. It is one of the relaxation techniques commonly used to tame raging emotions. Closing your eyes, taking in deep exhilarating breathes, and doing a slow counting till ten helps bring down the raging temper and clear the head of the situation.

Compartmentalizing. Especially when in the professional space, it is of the highest importance to break free of the space and put it in a box. It will require a lot of work, but compartmentalizing it means dealing with a specific problem in its designated space. A personal problem should not make inroads into work as it will hamper the performance.
