How To Style Mary Janes

Every woman deserves to have a Mary Jane in her wardrobe. Read on to know how to style your Mary Jane with your outfits.

Mary Janes are a classic and adaptable shoe style that may be worn with a wide variety of outfits. So many different options exist, from jeans to palazzo pants to dresses, all of which may be paired with tights or socks. We will check out several Mary Jane shoe-centric clothing combinations. For that reason, if you need some fashion motivation, keep reading!

Flared Skirt

A pleated skirt can be worn now and forever. To get a preppy look, pair it with Mary Jane shoes; to achieve a more relaxed look, wear it with a graphic t-shirt, as shown. If you want a schoolgirl look, wear white socks. This ensemble is perfect for long hours of research in a cafe or classroom. Wearing tights, a leather moto jacket, and maybe some rad earrings can elevate the look to the fancy category. Those modifications would transform this ensemble from day to night in no time.

Dresses

The baby blue hue and daisy flower design of these Mary Janes are undeniably eye-catching. Seeing these prompted me to include them in this piece immediately. These shoes are perfect for a night out when paired with a simple lace or solid color dress and some jewelry. The combination of these shoes and a chambray blue shirt dress strikes me as perfect for a picnic, an Easter meal, or a leisurely Sunday brunch for spring or summer.

Jeans

Even though jeans are a closet staple, we tend to wear the same pair of shoes with them over and over again. However, if you want to draw more attention to yourself, try switching up your shoe game with a pair of jeans and some alternative footwear. Mary Janes are the perfect footwear to dress up a pair of denim.

Sporty Shorts

The next time you're trying to figure out what to wear, try putting together a pair of Mary Janes and some shorts. Wearing a pair of classic white Mary Janes with certain black biker jeans and a white button-down is a great way to channel the 70s and 80s. You could also go for a more relaxed style by swapping out the dress shirt for a graphic tee. The shorts make this outfit more relaxed. It's the kind of thing you'd feel comfortable wearing to hang out with friends over coffee, visit the library, or get lunch. The shoes are also available in green, which would be a welcome splash of color against the otherwise muted ensemble.

Trousers

Get the style by wearing a simple shirt and letting your jeans stand out. While this pair of gingham shorts are my favorite, any pair of patterned pants will do the trick. These ballet-inspired Mary Jane flats offer a stylish alternative to the classic style.
