Methi, or fenugreek as it’s known in English, is a common ingredient to be found in Indian households. It has a distinct flavor, making for an amazing addition to several veg and non-veg dishes. Also, being a nutritional powerhouse, it’s known to have an excellent range of health benefits.

However, methi has also been used as a hair remedy for centuries. It contains huge amounts of iron, protein, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, etc. that are beneficial for your hair health. From fighting dandruff to repairing damaged hair to adding extra shine to preventing premature greying to reducing hair fall and more – methi can help you achieve your hair goals in no time.

Use methi + lemon juice for hair growth

The combination of methi and lemon juice helps cleanse impurities from the scalp and eventually boosts your hair growth to a significant extent. First, soak 3 teaspoons of methi seeds in cold water overnight. Mash the seeds to form a paste the next morning, and mix it with 3 teaspoons of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 30 minutes, and wash it off with a mild shampoo. Do this at least thrice a week.

Use methi + coconut oil to reduce hair breakage

Needless to say, that coconut oil is highly beneficial for your hair health. It provides moisture to the scalp and strengthens your hair follicles from the inside. First, mix 3 teaspoons of methi seed powder with four teaspoons of organic coconut oil. Apply the mixture to your scalp, massage it properly with your fingers, leave it for 1 hour, and then wash off with lukewarm water using a mild shampoo. Repeat the process twice a week for the best results.

Use methi + amla + castor oil for strengthening your hair roots

Methi, when combined with amla and castor oil, becomes an effective remedy for various scalp infections. It treats dandruff, improves pigmentation, strengthens hair roots, reduces greying of hair, restricts hair loss, and also promotes hair growth. For the remedy, mix 2 teaspoons methi seeds powder with 1 teaspoon amla oil and 1 teaspoon castor oil. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for an hour and then wash off with a mild shampoo. Do this twice a week.

The best thing is that all the above-mentioned masks are suitable for all scalp & hair types.
