How to use tulsi for your skin?
Tulsi is your one-stop solution to a range of skin issues.
If used topically, it may help you achieve your skin goals in no time.
Below, we've discussed the recipe for three DIY tulsi face masks that you can use.
Tulsi (known as holy basil in English) is an ancient herb that requires no introduction at all. Loaded with many different nutrients, it makes for an important ingredient in various medicines.
Now, it can also do wonders when it comes to skincare. It repairs skin damage, boosts healing, restores natural skin tone, lightens dark spots, prevents acne, and more. Also, free from harmful chemicals, it makes for a better alternative to the skincare products available on the market.
Use tulsi + yogurt to moisturize your skin
Tulsi is packed with antifungal, antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Hence, it helps remove toxins and bacteria from the skin, and also soaks up the excess oil. Yogurt, on the other hand, contains exfoliating properties which help remove dead skin cells. Also, being a rich source of fats and proteins, it significantly provides moisture to your skin. It boosts skin elasticity and makes your skin radiant and flawless as well.
First, mix 2 teaspoons of tulsi powder with 1/2 cup of Greek or regular yogurt. Apply the mixture to your face, leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash off with lukewarm water.
Use tulsi + gram flour + honey to reduce skin inflammation
The combination of tulsi, gram flour, and honey is effective at reducing inflammation on your skin. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, tulsi helps reduce your skin inflammation to a significant extent. Gram flour contains zinc which aids in your skin's ability to fight inflammation. It also restricts sebum production, which further makes your skin more radiant. On the other hand, honey contains humectant properties that inhibit the loss of moisture on your skin.
First, prepare a thick paste using 2 teaspoons tulsi powder, 2 teaspoons gram flour, and 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey. Apply the mixture to your face, leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash off with cold water.
Use tulsi + mint + rose water to prevent acne breakouts
Tulsi helps remove excess oil on your skin, which further reduces your risk of acne and pimples. Also, it kills bacteria which could contribute to acne breakouts. Mint contains antioxidants that fight off free radicals, and also boost blood circulation on your skin. It has antimicrobial properties which reduce your risk of acne as well. Rose water, on the other hand, regulates the pH levels of your skin.
For the remedy, all you need to do is mix 2 teaspoons of tulsi powder, 2 teaspoons of mint powder, and 1 teaspoon of rose water. Now, apply the mixture to your face, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse off with water as usual.
