While keeping the plate full with the body’s requirements, it is important to understand that one doesn’t have to overeat in the case of counting the nutrients. Even in such cases, the idea is to eat a balanced, controlled portion. So here are tips and tricks to work on portion control.

Use smaller dinner plates and bowls.

Well, makes all the more logical sense as it will force into picking the necessary food in large quantities and the rest in smaller. So the size of the plate, spoons, and glasses is a great factor in influencing the portions we serve ourselves and how much we end up consuming. Larger plates make food portions appear smaller, leading to excess serving on the plate and later overeating.

Don’t wait to eat until the body is starving.

One of the other ways is to eat before you feel hungry or even starving feeling. When you tend to keep the body waiting till you feel hungry will lead you to eat excess. It is important to have a routine or a discipline with eating habits. Usually, the body clock makes one feel hungry at a certain fixed time, and it is necessary to listen to the body then and eat in time. When we eat after starving the body for a long time, we tend to overeat. The best way is to not wait for the meeting to get over and then reach for lunch, do it before it.

Full the plate with colourful vegetables

It is one of the best ways to not only make children eat and relish those vegetables but also a great way of portion controlling the plate by filling up the plate with veggies aids in improving the overall nutritional status of the body. Adding vegetables to the plate gives the body the necessary roughage, which in turn helps in keeping the bowel system happy and reduces the junk.

Never eat from the bag or pack directly.

When we snack or eat directly from the bag, it leads to overeating because then there is no limit to how much one pulls out of the bag.
