Indian cities that got excluded from worst AQI.

Air Quality Index (AQI) is a measurement unit used by government agencies to identify the air quality of different cities in a country. 

Did you know that the air quality indices vary in countries based on national air quality standards? According to the reports, the air quality gets decreased in many Indian cities. The mounting levels of air pollution in those cities get worsened by the composition of hazardous gases released into the environment due to different sources. It triggers concerns for public health in the country.

Although most cities in our country are taking steps for improving their air quality, some Indian cities got recorded for having fresh air. Let us know more about such cities in India.

 Aizawl is the capital city of Mizoram with an AQI value equal to 13. Located on the northern side of the Tropic of cancer, Aizawl is one of the Northeastern cities in India. Aizawl is the largest city in Mizoram, with around 2.4 lakhs people living there. It is the centre of the administration, having every important government office, civil secretariat and the state assembly house.

 Amravati in Andhra Pradesh has good air quality with an index value of 23. Located by the bank of Krishna River, it is the capital of an Indian state, Andhra Pradesh. Amravati, formerly known as Dhanyakatakam, was founded by the N. Chandrababu Naidu in 2014. Also, it gets known as a prestigious city for preserving the history and cultural heritage of the state that takes back to the 2nd Century BCE.

 Davanagere, also known as Bennenagari, is a city in Karnataka with an AQI index equal to 24. Formerly known as the Manchester of Karnataka, it is the fourth largest city in this South Indian state. In recent years, it witnessed drastic changes. Hence, it got selected as one of the fastest-growing cities in India. Also, Davanagere is popular among all for its rich culinary traditions, which encircle the diverse variety of Karnataka’s traditional dishes. Out of all, it is known for serving the best Benne Dose (Butter Dosa) in the state.

 Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, has an AQI index value equal to 40. Also known as Trivandrum, it is a well-known Indian city having British colonial architecture and several art galleries. Here, we can find Puthen Malika (or Kuthira Malika) Palace, which displays the beautiful collections from the Travancore royal family of the 18th or 20th centuries and is well-decorated with carved horses. Similarly, it is also a crucial IT hub in Kerala which contributes about 50% of the software export in the state.
