What is an insanity workout?
Guided by fitness trainer Shaun T and produced by Beachbody, insanity workout is based on a fitness method called ‘max interval training’. It is an advanced fitness regime in which you exercise hard for 3 minutes and rest for 30-seconds in between, burning almost 1,000 calories per hour. One of the hardest workout programs available today, it is sure to challenge even the most experienced athletes.
How does it work?
Insanity workout does not require any equipment and can be done within the four walls of your home.
The whole program takes a total of nine weeks and has three sections, month 1, recovery week, and month 2. During one week, you exercise for 6 days and rest for one, and the workout schedule changes every week.
In the first month, each workout lasts for around 45 minutes, while in recovery week it can take up to 37 minutes. However, in the second month, a routine can last anywhere between 60 to 80 minutes.
Instead of being a muscle-building regime, insanity workout is to burn fat and calories, as it combines resistance training and cardio to give you leaner and stronger muscles.
Can everyone try it?
Insanity workout is not for everyone due to its high-intensity level.
