Is consuming fruit before lunch a good idea?

There is no perfect time or day to consume a fruit, just go for it

One of the biggest food item deemed fit for consumption when one gets on the road is a fruit. Any variety of fruit, be it a banana, orange, berries, grapes, or any other that you love, sits perfectly on the list of healthy eating. However, if one was to follow the advice of various health experts many come with a version consuming fruits only at a certain time. Some may say before breakfast, or in the evening but a fruit, consumed especially in its raw form, holds high nutritious values eating any time of the day. Here’s breaking some popular myths about eating fruit.

No problem in eating fruit on an empty stomach No matter when you eat it, the nutritional value of fruit remains the same whether eaten on an empty stomach or after a full meal. However, it definitely is a fact that fruit or any other food is digested more rapidly if it’s on an empty stomach.

Eat freely right after a meal Be it after breakfast, lunch, or dinner, fruit can be digested easily and so will its nutrients be absorbed fully. The stomach processes only a small amount of foods at a time, allowing the intestines to easily digest so it doesn’t matter if the fruit is eating before or after a meal.

Not just morning, eat fruit anytime It is an absolute myth that says that eating fruit is healthy if eating in the morning. The fruit is a fruit and consumed at any hour of the day or night will reap benefits to the body. The nutrients of the fruit will be efficiently extracted by the body whenever you wish to or plan to eat it.

A fruit init has not only nutritional values but is a powerhouse of fiber, anti-oxidants, natural sweetener, vitamins, magnesium, and various health benefits. In fact, due to the fiber in fruit, eating it makes one feel full for longer periods keeping the weight in check as well as digestion.

Most importantly, for people with diabetes eating fruit doesn’t spike your sugar level. A diabetic patient can consume any fruit they wish but of course in moderation. Better will be if the fruit is paired with a meal rich in protein, fat or fiber will help the sugar from fruit to enter the small intestine slowly.

A fruit also causes the person to consume fewer calories, in turn helping in keeping the weight in check. So there is no right time or day to pick fruit and eat whenever you want it or like it.
