Juice, Smoothie Or Squash - Which One Is Better?

We can consume fruits in many forms these days, particularly as juices smoothies and squashes. Do you have any idea which form is better? Let’s find out.

Juice

Juice is a liquid extracted from a fruit or vegetable. Juice is consumed normally as a beverage or used as an ingredient to flavour the food. It usually contains no other ingredients and you consume it as it is without diluting it. It can be extracted from any fruit and vegetables with high water content and water-soluble nutrients like carbohydrates but it contains little or no structure of the fibre. It is advisable to consume fresh fruit juice instead of packaged juice. Juice that comes in a tetra pack is manufactured by adding preservatives and several chemicals which may be harmful to the human body. On the other, consuming fresh fruit juice can not only provides you with energy but it also increases the nutrients in the body.

Smoothie

Smoothies are a recent phenomenon in the health sector. Few years back, smoothies were not popular because of their taste and people's preference. In the recent times, there has been an increase in the number of smoothie lovers. One of the main reasons behind this is the fact that there is no particular recipe for making a smoothie. You can blend your favourite fruit with the choice of base. Smoothies have numerous health benefits. They provide you enough nutrition for the day and they are packed with high protein, calcium, vitamins and several other nutrients. From gym lovers to athletes, everyone drinks smoothies and their demand has increased in the recent times.

Squash

Squash is a concentrated liquid which is obtained by the combination of fruit juice and sugar. It is non-alcoholic but processed. Many manufacturers substitute sugar with another sweetener. The process of preparing the squash is to process and sterilize the fruit juice, and then add water and preservatives to make a form of syrup. Then bottling and packaging is done by the manufacturer. To consume the drink this syrup is diluted with water or carbonated water. The ratio of syrup and water is 1:5 or 1:4. Squashes with added sugar content are not recommended as they are not good for your health. They have a very low amount of fiber or no fiber at all. Hence, consuming fruit juices is a better health option as they are consumed as it is. The shelf life of squash is longer than juice but juices are fresh and healthier.

Conclusion

Eating a whole fruit is the healthiest option but in the time when people are exploring food, they want something different. Therefore having fresh fruit juice is healthy.
