Kia to continue its winning streak with Sonet

With gorgeous looks, plenty of exciting features and several gearboxes and engine options, Kia’s Sonet is expected to bring about a lot of upheaval in the extremely competitive compact SUV segment in India.

Kia Motors recently unveiled its third offering in India- the all-new Sonet. With this much-awaited model, the Korean carmaker is driving into the compact SUV segment, which is one of the most competitive ones in the country.

This India-exclusive SUV was first introduced at the 2020 Auto Expo as a concept and is now ready to give a fierce competition to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and the yet-to-arrive Nissan Magnite.

Exterior

Featuring a bold and aggressive exterior, the overall look of the Kia Sonet is accentuated by its signature Tiger Nose grille and chrome-finished lower edge that is flanked by slim LED headlamps and signature “heartbeat” LED DRL’s and taillamps. The bonnet with power bulge further provides the SUV with a distinctive muscular look.

Interior

Step inside the all-new Kia Sonet for the best-in-class cabin experience. The interior quality looks top-notch, seats seem plush and comfortable, whereas the cabin space looks similar to the others in the segment like Hyundai Venue.

The centre console, screen and the instrument panel are all neatly placed around the driving seat to provide a comfortable driving experience. The boot space appears large, touching Venue’s 350-litre mark.

Features

Packed with features that definitely rival the best in class, Kia Sonet’s highlight remains the 7-speaker Bose sound system and the massive 10.25 inch touchscreen with in-built navigation, the carmaker’s exclusive Uvo connectivity suite, ‘sound mood lights’ control and the air purifier with virus protection.

Its exhaustive list of features also include a sunroof, auto climate control, auto headlamps, cooled wireless phone charging, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre-pressure monitor and top-class safety equipment like 6 airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, hill assist control, brake assist and vehicle stability management.

All set to go on sale during the festive season, Kia Sonet seems to have left no loose ends and looks well prepared to take on its rivals. It is expected to hot up the compact SUV segment in India and will be competitively priced between Rs 7-12 lacs.
