Know All About World's Fastest EV Charger From ABB

Known as the New Terra 360 modular charger, the electric charger from the house of ABB is now the world’s faster electric vehicles’ charger!

Repeatedly, we have mentioned that the automobile industry of the world is witnessing a massive transition. At present times, it is all about replacing conventional fuel-driven vehicles with electric vehicles to make the world a greener place once again. Therefore, not merely electric vehicles’ manufacturers, but several companies are working to bring in innovative solutions related to the electric vehicles’ space. The latest company to make headlines in the world is ABB, a company hailing from the country of Switzerland that has launched the world’s fastest electric vehicle charger.

Known as the New Terra 360 modular charger, the electric charger is an all-in-one electric vehicle charger and as per the company, it is the world’s fastest electric charger at the moment. According to the company, the charger can charge four electric vehicles simultaneously and have the capacity of producing a maximum power output of 360kW. Not to forget, the company also claims that the charger can charge any vehicle fully within 15 minutes.

About the new charger, Frank Muehlon, the President of ABB’s E-mobility Division said in a press release shared by the company: “With governments around the world writing a public policy that favours electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate is higher than ever. The Terra 360, with charging options that fit a variety of needs, is the key to fulfilling that demand and accelerating e-mobility adoption globally.”

“It’s an exciting day for ABB, who as the global leader in electric vehicle fast charging, is playing a key role in enabling a low carbon society. With road transport accounting for nearly a fifth of global CO2 emissions, e-mobility is critical to achieving the Paris climate goal. We will also lead by example by switching our entire fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles to non-emitting vehicles,” further added Theodor Swedjemark, the Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at ABB.

The company has assured that the chargers and the charging stations will be accessible in Europe by the end of 2021. In regions such as Asia Pacific, USA and Latin America; the same will be accessible by 2022. Last but not least, for the unversed souls, ABB entered the e-mobility business in 2010 and snowballed into a world leader by selling 4,60,000 electric vehicle chargers, 21,000 DC fast chargers and 4,40,000 AC chargers in various parts of the world.
