Thiksey Monastery

Thiksey monastery is among the most beautiful monasteries of Ladakh. Created in the resembling structure of the Tibetan Potala Palace in Lhasa, this monastery is situated as high as 11,800 feet and is managed by the Gelugpa sect. The monastery has twelve storey building complex where over five hundred monks live. Likir Monastery

The Likir monastery is situated in the most picturesque location of Ladakh. More popularly known as the LikirGompa, this monastery is believed to be the first construction of the Tibetan monks.
