An American actress and producer, Meg Ryan began her acting career in 1981 with box office hits like Top Gun. This movie brought Ryan recognition followed by independent films such as Promised Land and the famous romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally that brought her widespread attention and her first Golden Globe nomination. Restoration This 1995 historical drama film by director Michael Hoffman is based on the 1989 novel of the same name by Rose Tremain. It stars Robert Downey Jr. as a 17th-century young medical student, Merivel, studying to be a physician, who finds favour with King Charles II. The story takes a turn when Merivel falls in love with the king’s mistress. After being banished from the court, Merival finds love again but this time with a troubled young woman Katherine, played by Ryan. The film won Oscars for Art Direction and Costume Design.

The Doors This 1991 biographical musical film stars Val Kilmer as lead singer and songwriter Jim Morrison, while Meg Ryan essays the role of Pamela Courson, Morrison's girlfriend. The film tells the story of the rock band The Doors, especially emphasizing the life of its lead singer, Jim Morrison. The film beautifully retells the life and tragic death of a legendary lead singer of The Doors, Jim Morrison. The film gained an appreciation for Kilmer and Ryan’s impeccably capturing the love and the tragedy behind two lives cut too short.

Innerspace This 1987 science fiction comedy by director Joe Dante was inspired by the 1966 science fiction film Fantastic Voyage. The film tells the story of a man, Lt. Tuck Pendleton, played by Dennis Quaid, who gets shrunk down and put inside the body of a hypochondriac. And Ryan portrays the role of Tuck’s ex-girlfriend Lydia Maxwell. The film gets interesting when Tuck’s colleagues are working hard to try to restore him to his original size that includes a long line of challenges.
