Monarchs who were crowned when they were small kids

Ok! Let’s see, if we ask you what do you expect from infants or small babies when you see one? That they achieve their milestones, cry a little less, shouldn’t make a mess and have a good night sleep. This is the apex of expectation we have for the little cuties around us. But what we told you that there are some children in history, who were expected to make some life-altering decisions for their country? Here is the list of some of the monarchs who were crowned when they were small kids.

Emperor Puyi

The last Emperor of China, Emperor Puyi, was crowned when he was just 2 years old. In 1908, when he was crowned, it is said that he was really scared of the ceremony and clawed, kicked and cried the whole time. He was crowned at the time of great instability in the country as well as royalty. The Chinese royal dynasty was crushed and pulled out due to a revolution when Emperor Puyi was just 6 years old.

Pomare III

He was one of the most influential infants of all time. Pomare III was crowned as King of Tahiti at a mere age of 17 months in 1821. Although, it was his mother who ruled and issued orders on his behalf. But the little king could not rule for long and passed away in mysterious disease at mere age of five. He was succeeded by his sister, who was 14 years old at the time but went on to rule for 50 years.

Tsar Ivan VI

He was the most pitiful monarch in Russian history. He was crowned as Czar of Russia when he was just two-month-old. He, with his regents held on to power just for a year and was disposedoff by Elizabeth Petronov in the year 1741. He spent his entire childhood in solitary confinement and at the age of 23, was murdered by guards of jail.

Alfonso XVIII

Unlike other child monarchs, Alfonso XIII was crowned as King of Spain on the same day he was born in the year 1886. He was given enough time and resources to learn the intricacies of his duties, but he proved to be a really bad ruler. The country was run by dictator, and the monarchy was pushed down.

So, do you think that children have the will and maturity to rule the world?
