Most 100+ partnerships for England in ODIs

Two England pairs have added over 100 runs in ODIs on more than 10 occasions. 13 Jason Roy - Jonny Bairstow (48 innings) The combination of Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy first came together in 2015. The two have played 48 innings together till now and have added 2750 runs in partnership, with the best of 174.

When Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy bat together, they average 57.29. The two have struck 13 century stands and 10 half century stands and have been at the centre of England's massive success in ODIs over the last 4-5 years.

What gives them an advantage is that they take an aggressive route from both the ends and it does not leave the bowlers with many options. The fact that Bairstow is good against spin bowling as well, helps to counter it in case the partnership exceeds the 10 over batting powerplay.

12 Joe Root - Eoin Morgan (75 innings) With Joe Root batting at Number 3 for England and Eoin Morgan batting at 4 or 5, it is only obvious for the two to play a lot together. Morgan and Joe Root first batted together in an ODI for England in 2013. Since then, they have batted together in 75 innings, having scored over 3000 runs.

The pair has remained unbeaten on five occasions and has the best partnership of 198. When Eoin Morgan and Joe Root bat together, they average 45.44. The two have had 12 century partnerships and 9 half century partnerships.

7 Jason Roy - Joe Root (28 innings) At times when Jonny Bairstow gets out early, Jason Roy and Joe Root have done well to prop up the team's score. The partnership between Jason Roy and Joe Root provides a different flavour as it is not all about brutal hitting.

Root generally pinches singles and ensures that the run rate keeps moving along smoothly. At the same time, Jason Roy has the flair to go after the bowling, which makes for a brilliant combination.

Roy and Root batted together for the first time in ODI cricket in 2015 and have had seven century stands from 28 innings, remaining unbeaten on one occasion. The two have added 1649 runs at an average of 61.07. They also have seven 100 stands between them in ODIs.
