Most 100+ partnerships in ODIs

Sachin Tendulkar and SouravGanguly hold the record for the most century partnerships in ODI cricket.

26 Tendulkar – Ganguly

Apart from their exceptional talent and consistent performances, the reason why Sachin Tendulkar and SouravGanguly have the most hundred plus partnerships in ODI cricket is that Tendulkar and Ganguly opened the batting for India for a long time.

After VirenderSehwag was promoted to open the batting alongside Sachin Tendulkar, SouravGanguly dropped down to number 3. On occasions when Sehwag was dismissed early, Tendulkar and Ganguly had several match-defining partnerships. This is why the cumulative of both has resulted in 26 100 plus partnerships between Sachin Tendulkar and SouravGanguly in ODIs.

The first time they partnered each other was in 1992 while the last time Ganguly and Tendulkar batted together for India in an ODI was in 2007. They played a total of 176 innings together, scoring over 8000 runs at an average of 47.55, with the best of 258.

20 Dilshan – Sangakkara

Sri Lanka’s TilakratneDilshan and Kumar Sangakkara partnered each other in 108 innings out of which they registered 20 hundred plus partnerships. The two also added 19 fifty partnerships.

Dilshan and Sangakkara scored 5475 runs together including 6 occasions when both remained unbeaten. The highest that the two added in a partnership was unbeaten 210. The last time Dilshan and Sangakkara batted together in ODI cricket was in 2015.

18 Rohit – Kohli

With ViratKohli batting at number 3 and Rohit Sharma opening the batting for India over a long period, the duo have 18 100 plus partnerships in ODI cricket from 81 innings. The first time that ViratKohli and Rohit Sharma were part of a hundred plus partnership in ODIs was in 2010.

The two have scored a total of 4906 runs in partnerships with the best of 246. Whenever they bat together, it is a display of top class batting with Rohit Sharma’s elegance and ViratKohli’s limited overs sensibilities and bottom hand play.

This is the reason why they average 64.55 while batting together. Apart from 18 100 plus partnerships, the two have put together 15 50 plus partnerships in ODIs.

ViratKohli and Rohit Sharma are now partnering each other while opening the batting in T20Is. Many more brilliant performances are expected from them in the near future.

17 Rohit – Dhawan

Rohit Sharma and ShikharDhawan have had 17 100 plus partnerships in ODI cricket from 112 innings and have added over 5000 runs at an average of 45.25.
