1. Formula One:

Formula one, or as dandy people call it, F1,  is the single-seat, open-cockpit competitive automobile racing contest of the world. Expensive cars with big names like Mercedes, Red Bull, Renault, and Ferrari are involved with the drivers. The intense racing is all-inclusive of the risk of getting into an accident, or the huge damage that can be incurred on the cars results in making F1 as the expensive sports in the world.

2. Sailing:

We don’t need to spell it out, right? Sailing as a sport requires a boat -which costs way more than a car. This kind of racing also involves extra equipment that aids the sailors in winning the races. The sailing competitions are mostly sponsored by yacht associations and sailing federations. One best part of this sport is that age is not a factor. What are required for a top contender in sailing is mental work and strategic planning and a pocket that runs deep.

3. Polo:

Ever heard of the saying: Polo is for the elite? That’s because it is the truth. Polo requires horses, not one, but at least four so that fatigue of one does not interrupt with the match. There is the constant maintenance of the horses, which alone costs a ton of money. The horses need regular medical check-ups which can amount to a lot, especially with the round the clock look-after. Even sponsorship and patronship leave a dent in the bank account.

4. Equestrian: Any sport that requires horses are meant to be expensive. Equestrian, or horseback racing, has numerous competitive events. Like Polo, the cost of buying and raising horses are astronomical. The travelling or stabling horses with proper care need a big amount of wealth, making it another expensive sport.
5. Ski racing:

So, ski racing just requires one to have a pair of skis, right? That doesn’t sound expensive. Wrong! Ski racing requires so much more than that. Ski lessons itself cost a fortune. Other than that, a proper coach, access to locations, all add up to making ski racing part of the world’s most expensive sports.
