Most runs conceded by an England bowler in Women's ODIs

Four England bowlers have conceded 70 runs or more in women's ODIs.

Melissa Reynard 78 versus Australia Melissa Reynard gave away runs at 7.80 from her 10 overs against Australia at New Castle in February 2000.

Sophie Ecclestone 77 versus Australia Ranked the number one bowler in women's ODI cricket, Sophie Ecclestone had a forgettable day as she ended up giving 77 runs against Australia in the third match of the 2022 women's ODI world cup.

As a result, Australia posted 310 runs and won the match by 12 runs.

It did not come as a surprise as Australia had just beaten England outright in the Ashes series and even England's medium pacer Anya Shrubsole conceded the fact even before the match.

"Australia are the form team in world cricket over the last five years, and there's no getting away from the fact that they are favourites coming into the tournament," Shrubsole said. "In lots of respects, we don't have anything to lose coming out here. There's no getting away from the fact that it was a really difficult tour. At the front end of the tour we played some really good cricket and stood toe-to-toe."

"That was an amazing tournament to be a part of," she said. "To be able to play in a World Cup in your home country is something really special, and something that all of the girls who were involved will never forget. But five years has passed, a lot has changed. That has absolutely zero bearing on what happens here. The beauty of a World Cup is they're all one-off games. And we believe that if we play our best cricket on any one day, we will be really competitive."

JC Tedstone 76 JC Tedstone gave away 76 runs against Australia in January 1992 but that was the time when there were 60 overs in women's ODI cricket and Tedstone bowled 12 of those, giving away runs at an economy of 6.33.

D Hazell 70 South Africa took a liking to the England bowling attack as D Hazell ended up being England's most expensive bowler, giving away 70 runs from her 10 overs.

Nat Sciver 68 Nat Sciver was taken for 68 runs by Australia back in the ODI WC in March 2022, in the same match in which Ecclestone registered the unwanted record.
