Action comics

This issue marked the appearance of Superman for the first time. The comic was sold in 2011 for about $185,000, declaring it as one of the most valuable comics. Again in 2014, a fresh issue of the comic of 1938 was sold for an amount of $3.2 million, with a price of 10 cent printed on its cover. This therefore became the most expensive comics of all time.

Captain America

Another expensive and classic comic book Captain America by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby was worth $353,000. The comic got famous because of its cover picture portraying a youngster and ultra-patriotic Nazi-fighter Captain America, with his right hook on the face of Adolf Hitler.

Amazing fantasy

This famous comic, by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko gave birth to the very known Spider-man. The comic remains popular even today, so much that it was sold for $1.1 million in 2011.

Detective comics

Batman, the forever legendary character made his first appearance in the 27th issue of the Detective comics. A copy of the comics of 1939, was bought by a buyer at a price of $1 million. Only 100-200 copies of the comic are available today.

Marvel comics

The list of the most expensive comics would be incomplete without the mention of Marvel. It has grown to be the largest entertainment business worldwide. The first issue was released in 1939 featuring the angel, the Human Torch. In 2001, a copy of the comic was sold at $350,000.

All American comics

The story of the iconic hero Green Lantern got its first appearance in this comic in the year 1940. The comic was sold in 2013 for $203,150. It is now one of the rarest comics with only about 15-20 pieces remaining, as of now.
