Willem Dafoe is a veteran actor who has worked across genres and donned a multitude of characters giving mind-blowing performances. Dafoe started off his career with theatre and was an early member of an experimental theatre company. However, his career in front of the camera took off as an outlaw biker in the 1982 film The Loveless.

After that, there was no looking back for the 66-year-old actor, and in a career spanning over two decades has done many movies essaying incredible characters. Willem Dafoe is the recipient of various accolades such as the Volpi Cup, four Academy Awards nominations, four Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a British Academy Film Award. The Last Temptation Of Christ

This 1988 religious epic drama film directed by Martin Scorsese is an adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis' controversial 1955 novel The Last Temptation of Christ. The film stars Harvey Keitel, Barbara Hershey, Andre Gregory, and Harry Dean Stanton, besides Willem Dafoe. Just like the book, the plot of the film depicts the life of Jesus Christ and his struggle with forms of temptation like fear, doubt, depression, reluctance, and lust. Both the book and the film bring to the screen the various temptations Christ imaged himself engaged in.

The Boondock Saints

This 1999 vigilante action thriller film stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as fraternal twins. The two Boston brothers become vigilantes after killing two members of the Russian Mafia in self-defence in an attempt to free the city of crime and corruption. And Dafoe can be seen essaying the role of FBI Special Agent Paul Smecker, who is assigned to the two mafia members. Dafoe also appeared in the sequel The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.
