L.A. Confidential

This 1997 neo-noir crime film is based on James Ellroy's 1990 novel of the same name. The plot of the film tells the story of a group of LAPD officers in 1953. The story begins with LAPD Sergeant Edmund Exley who volunteers to testify against corrupt police officers in exchange for a promotion. All this he does much against the wishes of the precinct captain. The title of the film refers to the 1950s scandal magazine Confidential.

A Beautiful Mind

This 2001 biographical drama film is based on the life of the American mathematician John Nash. The genius was a Nobel Laureate in Economics and Abel Prize winner. The film is inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-nominated 1997 book of the same name by Sylvia Nasar. Russell Crowe essays the role of Nash, and the story begins with his graduation days at Princeton University.

The Mummy

This 2017 action and adventure film is a reboot of The Mummy franchise. The plot of the film revolves around Tom Cruise essaying the role of U.S. Army Sergeant Nick Morton, a soldier who accidentally unearths the ancient tomb of entrapped Egyptian princess Ahmanet.
