Natural Remedies for Excessive Sweating

Sweating is a natural as well as a healthy phenomenon, as it helps your body to cool off during the hot season. However, the problem begins when you sweat more than usual, irrespective of the season. It can be an indication of various issues such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infection, obesity, and more. In such cases, it's always advised to see a doctor asap. On the other hand, there are some natural remedies that you can use as well.

Vinegar is rich in astringent properties

The astringent properties found in vinegar close up pores, remove bacteria, and also maintain the pH balance of your skin - thus benefiting those who sweat excessively. For the remedy, drink a mixture of 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach, every day. It may also regulate blood sugar, support digestion, and promote weight loss.

Baking soda is alkaline in nature

Thanks to its alkaline nature, baking soda helps maintain the pH balance of your skin. Moreover, it removes bacteria, flushes out toxins, and absorbs excess sweat. First, mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with some cornstarch. Then, apply the mixture to your sweat areas, leave it for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with cold water.

Lemon juice acts as a natural deodorant

Lemon juice contains citric acid, making it a powerful remedy for excessive sweating. It also helps remove bacteria, flush out toxins, and provide a refreshing fragrance. All you need to do is apply some freshly squeezed lemon juice to the sweat areas (such as armpit, neck, etc.) of your body, leave it for 25 minutes, and then shower with a mild soap. However, it's not suitable if you have sensitive skin.

Potato is an excellent source of antiperspirant properties

Potato, thanks to its antiperspirant properties, works wonder when it comes to reducing sweat. It acts as a blocking agent and helps absorb the excess water from your body. For the remedy, all you need to do is rub some slices of potato on the sweat areas of your body. Let it sit for an hour, and then wash off with cold water.

Green/black tea is packed with loads of goodness

Both green tea and black tea are beneficial to combat excessive sweating. Green tea contains vitamin B that controls your sweat glands, thus helping reduce sweat. On the other hand, black tea is loaded with astringent and antiperspirant properties, both of which are good for this purpose as well. For the remedy, you can drink the teas regularly, or even rub the used tea bags to your sweat areas for a couple of minutes, every day.

You can also go for tomato, salt, tea tree oil, white sandalwood powder, etc.
