Petra, Jordan This city carved from the rock comes under the UNESCO protection site and is considered one of the greatest architectural structures. Built around 200 BC, it took the craftsmen hundreds of years to carve a 50-meter high rock into this marvelous structure you see. By the locals, this rock beauty is called the desert rose.

The Roman Forum, Rome Also known by its Latin name Forum Romanum, this historical structure is a rectangular forum that is surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings at the center of the city of Rome. The oldest buildings in the Forum date back to the 8th century BC. For centuries, the Forum was the center of day-to-day life in Rome, such as processions, elections, public speeches and criminal trials. Another attraction among this structure is the statues and monuments that commemorate the city's great men. This beautiful ruin is located in a small valley between the Palatine and Capitoline Hills and attracts 4.5 million or more sightseers yearly.

Machu Picchu Located in southern Peru, this ruined city lies on top of a mountain that was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. It was also named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. This ruin was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 and was an important cultural center for the Inca civilization. This place is only accessible by train or a four-day trek and is open year-round. These ruins lie along the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley and canyon walls on either side.

Tikal This Mayan city-state is one of the largest and best-preserved ruins of a civilization that was built during the Classic Period (200-900 AD). These ruins are located in Guatemala, are very serene, and makes for the best Indiana Jones experience.
