Seems to have drawn inspiration from Porsche, Chinese product Ora Good Cat, has reached the shores of Thailand
There are a number of electric vehicles in Thailand. Some of them are MG ZS EV, Jaguar I-Pace, Nissan Leaf, Audi E-Tron, Hyundai Kona Electric and Mini Cooper SE. However, there is a new player in the market which has successfully attained the limelight. Hailing from China from the house of Great Wall Motors (GWM), Ora Good Cat electric vehicle has reached the shores of Thailand. For the unversed souls, the Ora Good Cat made its debut last year in China before making its way to Thailand. Not to forget, it is undoubtedly Thailand’s cutest electric vehicle ever.
Based on the Lemon platform used on the Haval H6 (an SUV made by GWM), the Good Cat is a compact hatchback car with five doors. The Ora Good Cat is powered by an electric motor which is tuned to produce 145PS of peak power and a torque figure of 210Nm. Being a front-wheel driven car, the entire force is delivered to the front wheels of the car. With a top speed of 150 kilometres per hour, the Good Cat can hit a 0 to 50 kilometres sprint run in merely 3.8 seconds.
Moving on to the battery setup of the Ora Good Cat, the car is equipped with two battery configurations. The first one is a 47.8kWh battery pack whereas the second one is a larger 59.1kWh pack. The first battery pack offers a claimed mileage of 401 kilometres and the second battery pack can cover 501 kilometres. In terms of charging, the car is available with a standard and a DC fast charging option. While standard charging takes eight hours to fully charge the car, in the DC mode, one can charge the car from 30 per cent to 80 per cent within 30 minutes.
The Ora Good Cat may not be as good as the electric cars mentioned in the first paragraph of the article. However, that does not mean the car is not packed with premium features. The Ora Good Cat is armed with the Ora Pilot Driving, which comprises features such as adaptive cruise control, intelligent curve assist and automated throttle control. Last but not least, the Ora Good Cat also features the Ora Pilot Safety, which comprises functions such as front collision warning with AEB, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection and lane departure warning.
