Packing tips to save space in your luggage

Become a packing superstar with these tips to save space in your luggage.

Packing can be very overwhelming. We want to try to cramp our entire wardrobe in a small suitcase, but we also know that it is not feasible. So, what to do when you want to carry many “just in case” clothes?

Follow the below packing tips to maximize the space in your limited luggage.

  • Roll your clothes
Instead of folding your clothes in a neat pile, try rolling them. It saves so much more space than normal clothes stacking. Give it a try! However, you should always fold easily wrinkled and heavier clothing.
  • Use the inside of your shoes
Looking where to keep small items without losing them? Stuff the inside of your shoes with socks and other small items to save space and also find them easily later.
  • Use a pill organizer to store jewelry
A pill organizer is a great item for storing small pieces of earrings, rings, and medicines. You can use each compartment for a different item, especially if you want to avoid getting your long earrings tangled.
  • Essential cosmetics and toiletries
When you are on a vacation, the last thing you want to do is open a big box of cosmetics and toiletries and start applying them. Therefore, always pack only essential toiletries and cosmetics.
  • Pack thin clothing
Lightweight and non-wrinkle clothing should be your best friend when packing. Cotton, knits, and wool don’t wrinkle easily and can also be laundered if required. Invest in athleisure clothing to keep your suitcase light.
  • Wear your bulkiest pieces
Always wear your bulkiest jacket and shoes to the airport to prevent them from taking space and making your luggage heavy. Save light items like flip-flops and tank tops for your luggage. Also, if you get cold on the flight, remember to layer up.
  • Never leave packing to the last minute
When you pack at the last minute, you will throw all the clothes in your suitcase without thinking about what you are taking and how they will fit. Therefore, it is vital to start choosing your clothes at least a week before so that you can plan what to bring and how to save space.
