Pirlo, Xavi or Bronckhorst: Who is the Next Man at Barcelona?

Barcelona’s horrendous performance under the regime of Koeman has forced the board to find a replacement. The question is who is the next right man to lead Barcelona?

When Lionel Andres Messi had to leave Barcelona because of the club’s poor financial condition, everybody knew Barcelona would have a troublesome future. However, nobody expected Barcelona to be in such a horrible position. Indeed, Messi leaving the club is an important factor. However, one must thank manager Koeman whose managerial tactics this season have been incorrigible. After all, when a defender is asked to play in an attacking position, one needs to ask: What in the world is going on?

Under the brilliant (we are being sarcastic in case you do not have a pleasant sense of humour) managerial ship of Koeman, Barcelona at present is in the ninth position in La Liga. So far, the club has played seven matches out of which; it has won only three. One was a draw, whereas three were lost. Not to forget, in the Champions League, Barcelona failed to win against Benfica; forget Bayern!

The situation has forced the board of Barcelona to look for a replacement. The question is who is the right man to lead Barcelona? While the club is yet to find a manager, here is our take on who could be an ideal manager at Nou Camp.

Xavier Hernandez- A legend of the club, Xavi joined the club of Barcelona in 1997 and played for the club until 2015. During this period, he was considered the heartbeat of the team’s midfield because the man knew how to control the tempo of the match. Not to forget, he is a man of sheer will and discipline because of which; his teammates feared and respected him. After winning many accolades in Barcelona, Xavi flew to Qatar and became the manager of Al Sadd. The Qatar-based club has done well under the leadership of Xavi. Given how Xavi was an integral part of Barcelona and knows everything about the Nou Camp system, he could be an ideal manager.

Andrea Pirlo- Pirlo is a man who is interested in taking up the role in Barcelona because he has already informed the club about his interest. A great deep-lying playmaker, Pirlo picked up many accolades as a player and later on turned into a manager. Until a few months ago, he was the manager of Juventus. However, he was sacked, but that does not mean he cannot turn the tables. Managing is a business that depends on luck to a certain extent. A man with so much experience could stop the horrors of Barcelona.
