Punjab, the land of five rivers is known for its prosperous land, kind and warm-hearted people and food. You cannot separate Punjabi and their food. They not only love to cook and eat the most delectable dishes in the world, but they are the world’s best host too. In Punjab, no house, Dhaba or hotel would serve you bite-sized serving. Such is the influence of Punjab that people down south consider whole of north India as Punjab.   1. Kadha Parshad
To start off the list, we have the divine blessings from the gurus in the form of Kadha Prasad. The gurudwaras in Punjab and all over the world are known for their selfless service and open kitchens. Kadha Prasad made out of wheat flour, or semolina with lots of ghee and sugar is heavenly, no matter where you eat.

The purest form of lassi or sweet yoghurt drink is found only in Punjab. Though it also comes in a salty version, the sweet one is more famous in Punjab. A tall glass filled with thick lassi and oodles of cream and butter can make you refreshed.
  1. Amritsari Kulcha
Amritsari Kulcha is a stuffed variation of Naan, with dollops of butter and ghee smeared over it. It comes with various stuffing such as potato, cauliflower, paneer etc. It is served with spicy chole. You can find Amritsari Kulcha in the whole of north India, but we recommend you to have Amritsari Kulcha in Amritsar only.
  1. Sarso da Saag and Makki di Roti
The most famous duo of Punjabi cuisine, the world-famous Makki ki Roti and Sarson da Saag. There would be hardly any Punjabi household who does not look forward to winter just to relish these delicacies. It is served piping hot with white butter on top of saag. Simply heavenly!
  1. Chole Bhature
The quintessential Punjabi fast food, Chole Bhature is a crowd-pleaser. Bhatura, a slightly fermented puffed fried bread made from maida and milk served with spicy chickpeas is a burst of flavour in your mouth. It is available in all of north India and would have you salivating for more.
