DIY Pet beds

A pet bed doesn’t necessarily have to be bought from the supermarket or ordered from Amazon. You can make your own easily from the stuff lying around the house. Take any discarded furniture such as an old TV unit. You can convert that into a small sanctuary for your pet by simply putting a cushion or a mat at the base and attach a few drapes/curtains for added privacy. With only that, you will have a new bed for your pet who would enjoy it immensely.

DIY Shampoo

One of the common experiences of dog owners is that they wash their dogs with expensive shampoo only for it to immediately run out have a good roll around outside. With this hack you will at least save yourself the expensive shampoos by creating some on your own. To create dog shampoo, add two cups of warm water with half a cup of white vinegar. Add a quarter of cup of dishwasher and any of your favourite fragrance – and you have an inexpensive but highly effective dog shampoo at hand.

DIY Pill pockets

Tricking your pet to eat some medicine disguised in their food sometimes is hard work. With a few smart ones, it is almost impossible. You can actually make tasty pill pockets to hide those bitter pills and make your pets willingly eat them. You can create tasty pill pockets by mixing one tablespoon of milk, one tablespoon of peanut butter and two tablespoons of flour.

DIY Claw mark removal

Prevention is better than cure. If you have a scratching post, you cat and dog are less likely to scratch and ruin your furniture. You don’t have to buy one from a pet store. All you have to do is buy some rope and strings and tie them around the legs of your tables and chairs. Your cats will love it.

Another way of saving your furniture from a teething puppy is to spray them with two-part apple cider vinegar and one-part regular white vinegar. Dogs hate the taste of bitter apple and will stay away from your furniture.

If in case your pet has already made scratch mark on your furniture, there is a way to get rid of that as well. Add three parts of oil and one part of vinegar and mix the solution. Dip a rag and apply to the damaged area. This should get you rid of any unwanted marks.
