The movie is a life lesson about life should be bigger and not longer. Rajesh Khanna played Anand and immortalized the character with his act. Amitabh Bachchan played the supporting role of his doctor and he won Filmfare Award for best actor for supporting role for his acting. Mughal-E-Azam was K.Asif’s magnum opus set in the Mughal era and it tells the love story of Prince Salim and a court dancer Anarkali. It’s one of the classics of Indian cinema that should be remained untouched.
Mughal-E-Azam was the costliest movie made till then and when the budget of movies at that time didn’t exceed 5 lakhs rupees, Mughal-E-Azam was made with a budget of 1 crore, an amount unheard of that time. It was K.Asif’s dream project and he left no stone unturned to realize his dreams. It had a stellar cast of Prithiviraj Kapoor as Emperor Akbar, Dilip Kumar as Prince Salim, and Madhubala as Anarkali. Everyone related to this movie was passionate about the movie and Madhubala completed the movie while suffering from an incurable disease that took her life afterward. It’s one movie that can’t be remade and should not be at any cost.
