The Salzburg Castle, also known as the Hohensalzburg Castle, sits on top of a small hill called Festungsberg. Climb up to the top of the castle to get a beautiful panoramic view of the city. It is breathtaking! The open courtyards of the castle often hold many events and concerts and if you are lucky you can catch one too!

Since The Sound of Music and Salzburg are inseparable, we recommend you to take a Sound of Music tour when you are in the city. This tour would include visiting the spots where some of the most popular scenes from the movie had been shot.
