The 1980s was the time when action movies were in trend and Chandni brought back the romance in the movies and began a period where love stories started to be made again. Chandni was a celebration of the legend that was Sridevi, her beauty, her charm, and her acting talent. The music by Shiv-Hari, songs shot in beautiful foreign spots were big hits, and one of the few female-oriented movies that were big hits.
