Ranbir Kapoor is the scion of the Kapoor family which is regarded as the first family of Bollywood. Ranbir Kapoor as an actor belongs to the fourth generation of actors of the Kapoor family. Both his father Late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor were actors and Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in 2007 with the Sanjay LeelaBhansali directed movie Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor as the main lead. The movie followed the story of Sid, a careless guy from a rich family, and how he comes of age after meeting Ayesha (Konkana Sen Sharma).

AjabPremkiGazabKahani (2009)

The RajkumarSantoshi directed AjabPremkiGazabKahani was a romantic comedy movie and it had Katrina Kaif as the main lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

The year 2009 was eventful in Ranbir Kapoor’s career as with movies like Wake Up Sid and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year he proved his capability as an actor and with AjabPremkiGazabKahani, he gave a big hit. It was Ranbir Kapoor’s first superhit movie and it featured Katrina Kaif as the female lead. Raajneeti (2010)

Directed by Prakash Jha, Rajneeti was a modern-day adaptation of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, and Ranbir Kapoor’s character in the movie was inspired by Arjun and Michael Corleone from The Godfather.

Rajneeti was directed by Prakash Jha who is known for making hard-hitting realistic movies and it was a modern day adaptation of Mahabharata and had an ensemble cast of Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, ManojBajpai, and Katrina Kaif along with Ranbir Kapoor. The genre of the movie was totally alien to Ranbir Kapoor but he gave a brilliant performance in the movie as Samar Pratap who gets involved in the matters of his family to which he was always away. Rajneeti was one of the biggest hits of 2010 and proved Ranbir Kapoor’s mettle as a versatile actor.
