Ranbir Kapoor gave a brilliant performance in the movie as Barfi, which revolves around a deaf and mute boy Murphy ‘Barfi’ Johnson from Darjeeling, and his special relationships with two girls in his life, one being Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra), an autistic girl and Shruti (Ileana D’Cruz) with whom Barfi falls in love but can’t be together because of their positions in the society. The movie also starred Paresh Rawal as Sanjay Dutt’s father Sunil Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Nargis his mother, Vicky Kaushal as Kamli, a friend of Sanjay Dutt, and Dia Mirza as Sanjay Dutt’s real-life wife ManyataDutt. The movie earned more than 300 crores domestically and with it, Ranbir Kapoor entered the famed 300 crores club. Ranbir Kapoor won his third Filmfare Best Actor Award for Sanju.
