Situations, where quitting a job without a line up is completely fine

Unless you are a daredevil, you won’t be quitting a job without any other line up! But sometimes you just have to.

It is always advised to quit a job only by keeping another offer at hand. But then there come certain situations in life where quitting the current job is the best decision you can take at that moment, for yourself, for your growth. If you, too, are in a dilemma of whether or not to quit your job when you have no lineup at hand, read this to know when doing such a thing is ideal.

Switching a career

The job you are doing right now, is it something you’ve always wanted to do? Are you enjoying it? If not, you should be probably thinking about shifting your career to something you actually want to excel in. If this is the case, you can definitely think of quitting a job even if you have nothing at hand and upskilling yourself in the areas where you wish to take your career further. Having said that, it is, however, better to have at least some source of income at hand because earning for months and, all of a sudden, no salary credited will give you a lump in your throat. So even if you want to take up some courses for switching careers, do so with some freelancing gigs at hand.

Protecting mental health

If your current job is affecting your mind to a great extent, it is probably high time that you should think about quitting it. Although mental pressures will be there at any job place, that depends on how much you can absorb. In case you start having negative thoughts because of the job you are doing; it is better to quit it for the sake of your mental health and give yourself some time to think about what you want to do next. No job is greater than your mental health.

Starting a business

We all, at times, might want to start our own business instead of working for someone else. If you think the same and are actually ready with your business idea and capital, you can always go ahead, quit your job, and start a business of your own. But again, let us tell you, quit only if you know what you are doing and if you are confident that you can earn your living by some other means. If not, there is really no point in leaving your job. If you have a plan in mind and need time to execute and you know you have enough capital to handle it even without a job, you can for sure go on to execute your business plan.

Needing better flexibility

If you are a single parent, and your work does not provide you with enough flexibility, and it becomes difficult for you to manage your kids, house, and work, you can think of quitting without any offer at hand. Because you work for your family, and for yourself, and if your work is not allowing you to give your 10% to your home and kids, are you even doing the right job? We know it might take a toll on your financial lives if you leave without an offer in hand, so it is suggested make your decisions wisely. If you think you have enough funds to run your family for a month or so and have the required qualifications that can get you another flexible job within a few days, you can anytime go for that.

Let us remind you again, it is your decision whether or not you want to quit your job without anything at hand. Good luck!
