Six Indian Origin CEO’s of Top International Companies in the World (Part II)

For decades now, Indians and Indian-origin

India has produced many leaders of the world’s most influential and top companies, who are playing important roles in their growth, which is something not many countries can boast of. Continuing from the first part of the story here are the names of a few more Indian CEOs of top companies across the globe.

  1. Leena Nair- Chanel 

Leena Nair belongs to Kolhapur, Maharashtra was recognized as the youngest, first female, and the first Asian ever to achieve the feat of being the CEO of Chanel, the famous French fashion brand.

Leena Nair was born on June 11, 1969, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. She got a degree in electronics engineering from Walchand College of Engineering. She then completed her degree from XLRI Jamshedpur where she was a gold medalist. After completing her studies, she worked in various big international companies and later joined Anglo-Dutch Company Unilever where she was appointed as the Chief Human Resource Officer in 2016. Leena Nair was appointed as the CEO of the French fashion brand Chanel in January 2022.

  1. Shantanu Narayen

Shantanu Narayen was born and brought up in Hyderabad, India, and is the CEO of Adobe since 2007.

Shantanu Narayan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Osmania University, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS from Bowling Green State University. After completing his education, he started his career at Apple and then joined Adobe in 1998 where he was appointed as the CEO in 2007 when his age was 45. In 2016 he was ranked among the world's best CEOs by Barron's Magazine. He has been holding the position of Adobe’s CEO from 2007 till the present.

  1. Parag Agrawal- Twitter
Parag Agrawal completed his B.Tech. Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2005 and was appointed as the CEO of Twitter in 2021. 

Parag Agrawal was born and brought up in Ajmer, Rajasthan where he completed his schooling at Atomic Energy Central School No.4. He then joined IIT, Bombay where he completed B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering. He then pursued a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, USA, and later joined Microsoft Research and Yahoo! Research in leadership positions. He joined Twitter as a software engineer in 2011 and in 2021 he was appointed as the CEO of Twitter when former CEO, Jack Dorsey stepped down. Unfortunately, he was sacked from his position recently after Elon Musk acquired Twitter.
