Coir Pot
Given the damage caused by plastic and other related materials, most people are shifting to coir pots. These are biodegradable, eco-friendly, and long-lasting, which come in different sizes and shapes. Coir pots are made with coconut husk and are therefore considered environment-friendly. These are ideal for terrace or indoor gardening.
Ceramic Pot
Ceramic pots are made of less porous and denser earthen materials and are always glazed, both on the inside as well as the outside. They are made with light-coloured and finely textured clay. Ceramic pots are produced by firing in a high kiln and then shaped as desired. These are often painted and decorated in attractive colours and designs with a paint-like waterproof substance.
Terracotta Pot
Terracotta pots are quite similar to ceramic pots. These are made with special terracotta clay, which is porous and water-tight in nature. The issue of overwatering plants can be resolved quickly with these pots and are ideal for dry soil plants. Terracotta pots are perfect for preventing root cot issues and soil diseases.
Wooden Containers
Wood is a natural building material that is gorgeous when used in planting pots and containers. Styles can range from super-modern to very traditional, and sizes are equally varied. A wooden planting pot can last for many years. Cedar is a long-lasting but relatively expensive wood commonly used in planting containers.
Plastic Pot
Plastic pots are very common and are inexpensive. Hence, these are the most sold and demanded items in nurseries. But as we already know that plastic is not environmentally friendly. However, these are highly preferred as they are easy to maintain.
Metal Planters
Metal planters look fabulous. From brushed modern steel boxes to giant feed troughs and tin cans, there are numerous styles and looks that you can choose from. You can even re-purpose an old file cabinet to make it a planting container. Although metal planters gradually corrode or rust, they often last for many years.
