You are not alone in it when sometimes find it impossible to stay away from a little snack. Craving food often starts with a little snack and just when you think that you will stop after one bite you find yourself knee deep in unhealthy food. Food craving is hard to ignore and eventually you end up consuming a potentially heavy amount of calories by indulging in your favourite sinful foods like cakes and fries and chocolates. If your food cravings never seem to go away, you have to find a solution to keep yourself at check. Here are a few tips that would help you beat your irresistible food cravings.

Drowning The Cravings In Water
Quite often thirst is confused with food cravings or hunger. If you suddenly feel a wave of craving for food you want to stay away from, consider drinking a large glass of water. Once you have done that wait for some time. You will find that the food craving has faded away and it was there in the first place because your body was actually thirsty. Moreover, drinking water when you are craving food would actually fill up your stomach to certain extent and your hunger would die down. In fact, may weight loss experts suggest drinking large glasses of water before having meal to reduce the appetite and therefore the calorie intake.
Distraction Works The Best
When you find yourself craving for food, engage in some activity to distract your mind. Many times, inactivity could give rise to food craving because you are bored and your mind needs something to keep it engaged with. In such situations, take a shower or go for a brisk walk to distract yourself from food craving. A change of environment or the thought could work greatly towards curbing your food craving. You can even chew on some gum if most absolutely need to keep your mouth moving. Doing this will trick your mind into believing that you are after all eating something and distract it as well.

Don’t go hungry! Keeping yourself hungry for larger chunks of time never helps. Plan your meals and keep something handy like nuts to munch on every hour or two. That way you will never go hungry and food cravings will be thing of the past.
