Some ideas to spur up the staircase at home

Put in some magic into the dull looking stairs

Among the various nooks and corners of houses that require timely renovation, there are corners and areas with staircases that are mostly neglected. Often the staircases are neglected as they are left with footprints, toys, and the rest of the other possible junk in the house. But rarely does one pay attention to the staircase that is an integral part of the interiors. And you believe it or not, a slight change in the décor in the staircase will change the whole mood of the room. So here are a few simple easy-to-do tricks and tips for lighting up your staircase.

Dip the staircase in a multitude of hues

Like the few walls in the room or home, you thought of going bolder with darker shades, the staircase too can be experimented with with darker tones around the staircase. Shades like gray in combination with light tones on the surrounding walls will give out a perfect classy interior. Another way of approaching with bolder shades is by opting for abstract. Paint the staircase in a darker tone instead of the wall and let some mural flow over it. Let the design be abstract.

Create a pantry or storage unit under the stairs

Where there are stairs, there is a room under it. Well, for starters that is the design of the stairs which leaves plenty of room empty. So what do you do with that space, let it be eaten by dust or pile up with old newspapers? We make a cabinet, storage unit, wine storage, shoe storage, or a pantry out of it. The transformation of the empty space into something useful will automatically make it a beautiful accessory of the home décor.

Play patterns or let the elegance speak for itself

Without even getting down to do some work on the stairs, just play around with some uniformed patterns wallpaper on the wall against the staircase. Check the general tone of your house and plan a pattern accordingly. Well, if the pattern is not your thing then just let the wall against the stairs be a simple single light tone, whereas you can paint the railing in a darker tone. Have a mirror in the turning corner or a lamp hanging in the center while coming down the stairs. Keeping the railing of the stairs in simpler undertones and thin in structure, one can easily play around with the surrounding wall and the stairs.
