This 2020 British romantic thriller film directed by Ben Wheatley is based on the 1938 novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. The plot of the film, just like the book, tells the story of a young girl, played by Lily James, who, while working for Mrs Van Hopper in Monte Carlo, becomes acquainted with Maxim de Winter, played by Hammer, a recent widower. Soon after, they fall in love, get married, and head to his mansion in England. From here, things start to go down south for the young girl as she unearths truths.
